Picture 1 : A matured male Onychargia atrocyana (Selys, 1865) perching on a sun lighted tip of a leave just couple of feet above a grassy drain.

This species is rarely seen in Sabah.

Picture 3 : Onychargia atrocyana (Selys, 1865) is hairy not only on upper and lower thorax, long soft hairs also cover the face and head. Most other damselflies have only short fur.


Picture 4 : Secondary genitalia of above matured male Onychargia atrocyana (Selys, 1865). Onychargia atrocyana is one of the most hairy damselfly in Sabah. Here you can see long hairs on segment 2. Usually damselflies have only short fur on abdomens.
