is distinctive black on top and yellow marking at the side. Segment 8, 9
and 10 are dark.

This female was set free after photography to continue her eggs laying
in a weedy pond, as Malaysian nature parks rule ‘TAKE NOTHING BUT

This lonely female Aethriamanta aethra
was laying eggs at a weedy pond when I found her. No male was seen
around.
I was amazed to see for the first time Green dragonfly eggs. (In the
image the egg color look more blueyish)
A rare species with rare egg color.

The two eyes meet along a long seam as
compare to most other dragonflies eyes only touch at short seam.
Top of thorax is black with yellow marking.

It was this pair of wing venation that
lead to the identity of this species.
There was no photo available in Google for quick identify of this
insect. Finally with this wing image I traced to the last dragonfly on

Dr Orr’s high precision and detail on dragonfly drawings is greatly
adorable
