This is how it happen:   My camera was already in a close up distance and a few close up snaps already taken.  Suddenly he disappeared from the camera screen and I could hear his flipping wing sound above my head. Within only a couple of seconds he was right back again to his original position.  I quickly refocus the camera and on the screen what an excitement to see..........for the first time in my life.
蜻蜓是肉食者，常以其他小型昆蟲為食.

What insect was he eating ? These clearest 2 photos shows the black insect has long legs (hairless), a long abdomen and dark coclr wings.

This Neurothemis ramburii ramburii (Kaup in Brauer, 1866) share the same habitat with Neurothemis terminata terminata. Both are similar in size and same color red. They are separated by the small hyaline area at the wing tips.

Neurothemis are very timid dragonflies that can be scare easily even by a leave movement cause by wind.

體長34-42cm，雄蟲複眼紅褐色，胸部紅褐色，腹部紅褐色，腹背端部數節具3條黑線縱線，左右兩條不明顯，攫握器紅色，翅膀紅褐色，翅端透明，翅痣紅色。

雌蟲近似雄蟲，但腹部背面的黑色縱紋較粗而明顯，體色有兩型，紅色與黃褐色型，此為命名的由來。

未熟雄蟲近似雌蟲為黃褐色，可從攫握器與雌蟲的尾毛構造辨識。

生活於池塘、水田、沼澤等靜水或流水域，，為普遍分布常見蜻蜓種類。
